We also pray that Buddhas and Bodhisattvas will guide our fellow deceased practitioners to the Pureland, and forever leave the reincarnation cycle!
When everyone was chanting, the sky above the meditation center was surrounded by auspicious clouds.
As the celebration was near completion, Teacher Baoqu shared a similar story that Grandmaster JinBodhi once told, which is quite thought-provoking. There was a man who often recited the name of Guanyin Bodhisattva. Once, in floods in his hometown, he climbed onto the roof and shouted for help. A swimmer came to rescue him. Unexpectedly, the man said, “I want to wait for Guanyin to rescue me.” Later, a boat and a helicopter also reached out to him, but he waved his hand and refused, insisting on waiting for Guanyin Bodhisattva to come rescue him. This person was submerged by the flood, and because he had done many good deeds, he was reborn in heaven after his death. He met Guanyin Bodhisattva, and angrily accused Her: “Why didn’t you come to save me?” The Bodhisattva smiled compassionately and replied: “Do you remember the swimmer, the boat, and the helicopter?” I sent them all!“
Guanyin Bodhisattva, with thousands of hands and thousands of eyes, hears the voice and saves suffering, and is compassionate to all beings. Each of us can become the incarnation of Guanyin Bodhisattva. As long as we are sincere and corresponding with Guanyin, and with compassion, even a sincere compliment or a small act of kindness can warm others and help those in need. As a result, the world will become a better, warmer place. Let’s learn from Grandmaster JinBodhi’s compassion and love for all, bring health and happiness to more people in suffering, and become one of the incarnations of Guanyin Bodhisattva!
