On the morning of New Year’s Eve in 2016, my wife called to say send her New Year greetings to her family in Taiwan. Due to the time difference, her family was having a reunion dinner. My wife’s brother told her that a friend’s wife had disappeared for several days because she and her husband had quarreled. The friend’s family was very worried and notified the police for help. That day, the Bodhi Meditation Center in Boston had a chanting event, so my wife helped the friend to light a one-day light at the Center. She kneeled in front of Buddha to pray for the safe return of her brother’s friend’s wife. As my wife started to chant, she saw total darkness in front of her; she continued to chant, and after about an hour, a golden light appeared before her eyes. After she finished chanting, she received a text message from her brother. Just now, the lady who had been missing for several days was found; the husband and his wife were reunited!
My wife and I whole-heartely believe that this happy ending is not pure coincidence. How can there be so many coincidences in the world! We are both very grateful for the kind blessings of Buddha and Bodhisattva! From this incident, we realize why Bodhi Light-Offering is one of the three treasures of Bodhi, and we are also more convinced that as long as we communicate sincerely with Buddha and Bodhisattva, with the additional blessings of candle-offering, our compassionate wishes will be received, and those we want to help will receive blessings and auspiciousness! We are very grateful to Grandmaster Jinbodhi, all Buddha and Bodhisattvas, and the Boston Bodhi Meditation Center!
