Name:Jennifer and Milan

At a football match on May 29th 2010, our 15 year old son Milan was injured, suffered severe head trauma and was in a coma for three weeks due to brain hypoxia. We were relieved when he regained consciousness, however, other than breathing on his own, he had lost the ability to move his body, speak, eat, even to see.

On July 30th 2017, I received from a friend a copy of Bodhi Meditation’s magazine ‘Meditation & Health’. I was moved by the positive outcome I read from the testimonials and decided right there and then to pay a visit to the Bodhi Meditation Center in Boston, hoping to learn more about Bodhi Meditation and see if it would offer relieve to my son. As it happened, an 8.5-day Health & Happiness Retreat was already in progress and, even though Milan and I missed the beginning, we decided to join in.

Since that faithful encounter, I, along with Milan in his wheelchair, visited the center every day without fail, to meditate, to chant, to practice Energy Baqua, to receive energy blessings. Milan responded well to the chanting and enjoyed spiritual music, he particularly took to the energy blessings received from the Grandmaster JinBodhi. After some time, we began to notice improvement in Milan, like the ability to hold his head upright-something he had not been able to do since his injury. We were so encouraged and decided to double down on our resolve to visit the center every week and to take part in various group practices and energy blessings.

In rehabilitation therapy sessions since his injury, there were always two assistants there to hold and support Milan’s upper body as he practice, fought hard to try to regain his ability to walk, all the while dragging his unresponsive legs and feet. But in September 2017, Milan began to be able to bend and raise his left leg and take four steps, something we had not seen in seven long years! A significant milestone, buoying our confidence in benefits received from practices at the Bodhi Meditation Center. Three months later in December 2017, Milan was able to walk with his left leg for 120 to 200 feet. A year later in September 2018, Milan began to regain movements on his right leg too, bending, raising, and taking steps, essentially regained limited movements with both his legs. As of July 2019, Milan is able to prop up his upper body for two minutes, indicating that he is regaining control of his upper body muscles along with other parts of this body as well, just like his legs.

We credit various progress made to date to Milan’s self-confidence, hard work, and personal perseverance. Though the journey ahead is long and slow, we are confident that with his on-going enveloped with positive energy and blessings received from practices at the Bodhi Meditation Center, Milan’s road to recovery is on a trajectory that leads to positive outcome.

The intent of the testimonial is to offer wellness information of a general nature. Individual results of practice may vary.
