Severe lower back pain greatly reduced!  My rage attacks are gone!

This is my first Bodhi chanting class. Before I joined Bodhi Boston in October, 2021, for the past two years, because of COVID and the loss of a loved one in my life, I became quite depressed. I also had severe lumbar, sciatic nerve on right side and knee pain mainly on the right side but was affecting both knees eventually.

At its worst, my lumbar pain (on a scale of 1-10) was 8-9, my sciatic nerve pain was around 9 to 10 and this had caused me to use a cane to walk, I could not bend forward to put on my socks and shoes as it was increasingly painful to lean forward. I also had trouble falling asleep because of the agonizing pain. As a result, I could only sleep for 1-2 hours at night, and would feel extremely tired the next day. My knee pain as well as my lower lumbar pain also took a toll on me. It presented great challenges for me when standing up and climbing staircases. I tried different methods such as western medicine, a Chiropractor, Chinese acupuncture, but my condition did not improve much.  (The acupuncture had the most effect in improving my condition but the improvements were very slow and the pain still existed and would come back a few days after the acupuncture was done.  It would take multiple sessions of acupuncture to make minor improvements but the lower lumbar pain would come back slowly and back to its original intensity.  The acupuncture helped to solve the sciatic pain and some of the hip pain.  The Energy Bagua as well as the Chanting class seemed to almost completely eliminate the hip and lower lumbar pain. )

After practicing Energy Bagua for a consistent 47 days, I surprisingly found that I lost 10 pounds. This is quite amazing because I gained 90 pounds in the last two years, and it was very difficult for me to lose even a few pounds. My lower back pain came down to 5-6, but I still had trouble falling sleep quickly at night.

In the same month, I participated in Grandmaster JinBodhi’s Along With The Buddha Online Chanting Class. Not only do I feel more connected spiritually, but the day after the class completed, my lumbar pain has decreased to 0.5! I can fall asleep very easily and quickly now! I also wake up less at night and I feel much more energized the next day! Also, I can climb up and down the staircase much easier than before!

Chanting with Grandmaster JinBodhi also instilled more peace in my mind, increased my concentration and productivity at work, and deepened my compassion for those around me. An example is I used to get very annoyed by a fellow coworker’s behavior. A few days into the chanting class, surprisingly, I do not find this colleague irritating anymore. My other co-workers have also noticed that I don’t get upset as much now.

As of Nov 29th, I do not have any more sciatic pain. My lower lumbar sill have a small amount of pain due to bone spurs, but it is greatly reduced.

I am truly grateful to Grandmaster JinBodhi and to Bodhi Meditation for showing me a remarkable path in creating greater health for my body, mind and spirit.
